Hi there Geeks! DodgerGeek here with a really quick reply to a question we received on Facebook.
One of our awesome Facebook fans asked us:
Hey! Was wondering if the Apple flat cable will securely fit into the charging port of an iPhone 4 while it’s in a Ballistic case? I’ve had a few different aftermarket cables and it won’t fit. Thx
So, we wanted to test.
Now, for this experiment, we needed to make sure that we had the same iPhone 4 Ballistic case that our customer had. It happened to be this one you see here, the Original Ballistic AT&T/ Verizon Apple iPhone 4, iPhone 4S HC Hard Case Combo w/ Holster & Built-In Screen Protector.
So we grabbed one of those and then grabbed the flat iPhone 4 data cable he mentioned in his question. This one happens to be the Universal Apple iPhone/iPod USB 2.0 Charge & Sync Flat Data Cable in pink.
Now for the testing.
We put the Ballistic case on the iPhone 4 and plugged her in. And it fits. Nice and snug. There’s no problems with the fitting here. Unless you’re using the holster. The holster covers the bottom completely so the charger obviously cannot be inserted.
So yes, Mr. Tiboni, in short, if you were to purchase the Apple data cable that’s flat and try to use it with your Ballistic iPhone 4 hard case only, it will indeed charge the phone. However, using the holster will cause some problems.
We hope this was helpful!
And with that, I bid you adieu.
Thanks for watching and remember! You got it from A Geek!
