While smartphones by multiple brands have become increasingly popular over the past two years, it seems as though iPhones remain the popular way to go for most shoppers. A report by RichRelevance shows that 92 percent of mobile purchasing in December was done on Apple's iOS.
The study found that in 3.4 billion shopping sessions between April and December of this year, iOS accounted for 88 percent of mobile purchases. The average order placed was also higher than Android devices, at $123 for Apple and $101 for Androids.
“The numbers across our retailing partners sites demonstrate just how powerful the iOS platform is enabling mobile web shopping and, while still below 5 percent in total conversion, mobile traffic’s doubling in eight months is a trend we only see accelerating,” said RichRelevance CEO David Selinger.
IPhone accessories, such as keyboards, headsets and more, could be a great gift for any Apple fan or for someone who recently purchased an Apple device.
