With Japanese adoption of Androids skyrocketing, TechCrunch is reporting that there is a large group of cutesy cell phone accessories. The website said these new accessories, including one that includes Disney characters, are targeted at female groups by Japanese companies.
TechCrunch said Sharp has designed a "chocolate bar" handset that NTT Docomo, the largest mobile carrier in Japan, will roll out on Valentine's Day. This handset comes with Android 2.3 and has an e-wallet function, Wi-Fi and an 8MP CMOS camera. Also out is the Kyocera Honey Bee 101K, featuring multiple colors and a 3.5-inch LCD screen with 800-by-480 resolution.
"Disney Mobile, a Japanese MVNO, is planning to offer the DM012SH (pre-installed with a special Disney UI, Disney apps, wallpapers, etc.) next month," the website said of the DM012SH, an Andorid 2.3 handset made by Sharp.
Bright Side of News said there is a downside to these cell phone accessories, as there are many knock-off cases and other products that could be on the market. People should shop at proper websites to find legitimate cases and other accessories.
