It's been a little more than a week since Verizon released Sony Ericsson's gaming-friendly Xperia Play smartphone, but Sony recently announced it will soon introduce more than 20 original titles for the handset.
The biggest title coming to the smartphone is the indie fan favorite Minecraft from Majong. With more than 2 million units already sold for PC , gamers have long been awaiting an official smartphone version of the building block video game.
Additionally, Sony Ericsson said it will introduce a number of other new titles, including Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Shadow Vanguard, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Star Legends: the Black Star Chronicles, Order & Chaos and more.
"As Xperia Play becomes available to Verizon Wireless customers in the U.S., the portfolio of great games continues to grow, and we are delighted to announce 20 new games optimized for Xperia Play," said Steve Walker, Sony Ericsson head of marketing.
Sony Ericsson introduced the Android 2.3 smartphone earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Barcelona. Upon its release in May by Verizon, the smartphone featured six pre-loaded video games, including Madden 11, the Sims 3 and Crash Bandicoot.
