Even though the iPhone 4S release was just announced at an Apple conference on October 4 and has yet to hit store shelves, device-specific cases and mobile phone accessories are already being marketed.
Zagg, a mobile accessories manufacturer, plans to release a new line of its invisibleShield and Zaggskins products on October 14, the day consumers can buy the new iPhone model. Both offerings are designed to protect devices with a minimal amount of covering.
"Zagg's invisibleShield and Zaggskins will provide iPhone 4S consumers screen and full body protection from scratches and dings, enabling consumers to enjoy the device's functionality and design without worrying about wear and tear," noted Robert Pedersen II, company president and CEO.
The shield product is available in either a clear screen protector or full-body cover, and lets the design of the phone show through. Zaggskins are vinyl cases that can be personalized with user photographs or images.
Case-Mate has also announced it will produce seven new cases for the iPhone 4S. Choices include the Pop! protector, a hard plastic case with a rubber grip, and the Brushed Aluminum, a fashionable case with a high level of protection.
