While many iPad accessories are aimed toward improving the battery life, Domark international said its new Solawerks company announced the new Solapad iPad accessory, which helps charge the device with solar power, is drawing some interest at the 2012 PV America West show in San Jose, California.
"Company management reports that lines were forming just to see the new product and take pictures as soon as it was put on display," according to a news release. "Several nationwide retailers attending the show are already in talks to distribute the new cutting edge product. The new Solawerks Solapad is an electronic sleeve manufactured specifically for all versions of the Apple iPad. The Solapad contains a large, high-efficiency solar panel on its back, plus an additional internal battery to keep the iPad charged at all times."
Solawerks believes the popularity of this product is based on the most recent version of the iPad, which came out earlier this month and sold 1 million tablets on the first day. The company is looking to incorporate other designs and functions into this product in the future to make the user's iPad better.
ZDNet reports that there are also $300 iPad cases that work to charge the device via solar power while it is in the bag. This accessory also works for smaller devices, for those who are extremely technologically driven.
