With what we know, Android is already one of the top competitors in the smartphone world in North America. It has at times surpassed even IOS here. What is more surprising news is that in Asia Android OS has surpassed Symbian as the number one smartphone OS. It has been long known that phones by Nokia are very popular in the Asian regions, and since all of the Nokia smartphones run on Symbian it is no wonder that they were number one until now. The growth of Android in Asia has been astounding, going up in sales from 1.27 million to over 4.7 million since last year. It is awe inspiring and a bit scary how fast it has grown. Another region, Nordic, has also seen this amazing growth and it is predicted that Android will also take the lead in Nordic as the number one smartphone OS over IOS and Symbian.
