Samsung had made a bold statement when the released the Samsung Galaxy Tab saying that they would sell one million tablets in it’s first year of release. They may be way off the mark, but the numbers show so far that they are at a pretty good pace. Since it’s launch a mere 9 days ago they have sold 600,000 tablets worldwide, and 30,000 within Korea itself. These numbers though baffling will be the only time we see them this high. From here on out it is unlikely that they will post such high sales ever again, since in general the demand will drop when more people have obtained this product. Nonetheless this is a huge first step for Samsung on a long road. There early success shows that they could just be the company to topple Apple in the tablet industry. I look forward to seeing this growing rivalry between Samsung and Apple in both the tablet and mobile phone industries.
