With technology the way it is, it was simply a matter of time before something such as an autopsy became virtual. Sectra’s Visual Imaging Table has taken medical technology even further now that it gives doctors the ability to perform autopsy’s with MRI and CT scans which then create a 3D image of the corpse which can then be examined and cut. The best part is that this is all virtual so that families whom do not want the body to be cut in anyway can still ask for an autopsy. The one issue that immediately comes to mind for myself is whether or not by performing an autopsy virtually is truly as accurate as a normal autopsy. I feel it does give us an advantage, because we can even examine corpses which are carrying deadly and highly infectious diseases with minimal contact to it.
