Hey guys Camera Geeks here from AccessoryGeeks.com showing you the solar power charging bank. This is actually a really interesting item, albeit deceptive. One would think you can plug this into your phone and start charging your phone, but this is a battery and the batter needs to charge prior. It takes about 8 hours for it to charge from the sun and about 4 via USB because that is possible. It comes with this cord, which has mini USB on one side and then an auxiliary port on the other and it comes with 10 different knob… knobs? I suppose they should be called attachments… As you can see you can plug this one into a USB port and charge the battery via USB. So, my phone uses micro USB, I had already charged the solar panel, so, let’s see a quick jump cut of me setting it up, just to prove that I did it. Alright guys it’s very strange for me to have you in my car, but a Geek must do what a Geek must do. We’re in my car right now, I’m locking the Solar Power Charging Bank in my car so it can get a sufficient amount of sunlight. We happen to have a lovely sun today, it’s about 80ºF and it’s still January here in Southern California, but that’s normal… that’s actually not normal, but enough about the weather! This needs to charge for 8 to 10 hours, I’m gonna charge it for less than that, just because I gotta go home and do other stuff. And as much as I would just love to sit outside because it is a really lovely day, I might get yelled at so I’m gonna go back inside and do some work and we’ll come back and see how much this Solar Bank charged and if it’s even going to charge my phone. Alright guys, see you in a bit. So that was the footage, and I didn’t really point it out, but you know that it’s charging by the indicator lights flashing green, but it’s really hard to see them in the sun. The function button you press down to see how much of a charge it has, this one has 25% charge after all that time. It was charging for about 2 hours, but I guess that makes sense if takes 8 hours to charge it. Let’s just plug my phone in and I believe you press the function button, and there it goes, it’s charging. I’m at 45%. This is definely not going to charge my phone if it only has 25% battery. This might get it up to 60%. It’s a really cool idea, especially if you’re camping, but to use this as your main charger would be very, very cumbersome, so I suggest not doing that. It’s a really nice back up because you can charge it via USB, they probably thought ahead of time knowing that 8 hours is a very unreasonable amount of time to charge something and then charge your phone.
